Gym Bag Essentials

Don’t leave home without these much-needed workout items!

We ladies instinctively know what to bring along on a daily basis in our handbags…But what should we pack in our gym bag? Here are items we know you might want to consider.

Gym Bag Essentials

A good sports watch. We don’t endorse a particular brand, but there are some internationally-known timepiece companies that make decent and inexpensive sport watches to suit a woman’s style. You may need one in order to time laps, keep track of workouts and importantly, to resist moisture.

A roll of athletic tape. Fitness trainers the world over know a roll of sports tape keeps your workout together in the event of injury or if you want to support your joints. It can be found at any chemists’.

A bottle for your water. You know you need to keep hydrated, and a personal water bottle is necessary. Make sure you look for one that is BPA-free so it doesn’t leach chemicals into your water. Always make certain to clean and sanitise it after every workout.

A journal to record your workouts. Even a simple notebook will suffice. If you’re intent on keeping track of times, scores, reps and personal bests, having a journal with you will prove your hard work 6 months or a year down the road.

Extra t-shirts, socks or workout shorts. Even if you arrive suited up at the gym for your workout, there are times (aren’t there always?) when you find you will need that spare t-shirt. Or towel, or socks, or shorts. It’s always good to be prepared in the eventuality the gym is out of towels, or if you split your shorts during a strenuous session!

Keeping these things – and anything else you can think of that might be helpful – in your workout bags will make your life easier once you walk through the doors of your fitness centre in Perth. You’ll look like a seasoned pro who really knows her stuff!
